History Of The Department

Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University’s Department of Fashion Design & Technology has a rich history of nurturing creative talent and contributing to the evolution of the fashion/Textile/Interior industry. Established in 2010, with a vision to bridge the gap between artistic expression and technological advancements in fashion/Textile/Interior, the department has grown over the years, adapting its curriculum to align with global trends and industry demands. It has become a trailblazer in fashion/Textile/Interior education, producing graduates who contribute significantly to the ever-changing landscape of design and technology in the fashion/Textile/Interior world.

Laboratories & Equipments

The Department of Design is dedicated to providing students with a hands-on and technically enriched learning experience. Our state-of-the-art labs are equipped with industrial machinery and tools essential for imparting practical knowledge. From Single needle Juki Sewing machines for precision in garment construction to cutting-edge textile testing equipment, our labs offer a comprehensive understanding of textile properties and their suitability for various product developments.

Fashion Art Lab:

The Fashion Art Lab serves as a spacious, classroom-like studio designed for students for sketching purposes. Equipped with projectors and comfortable seating, it facilitates the creative process.

Stocked with specialized pattern making tables and dress forms for draping, these labs provide an environment for students to apply and contextualize concepts and processes related to garment realization.

Textile Lab:
